First Easy Riff on Guitar
This guitar lesson is going to begin on the 5th fret of the A string. Which is the 5th string. In this guitar lesson we are not going to be playing any chords.
The way to play the first guitar riff is to start with your second finger. If you don’t use the proper fingers you will get into a bind and make things harder than they need to be.
So here is the first part starting on the 5th fret of the A string. Fret the 5th fret, and pick the A string.
Next using your third finger still on the A string. But on the 6th fret. Fret there and pick the A string again.
Okay now using your first finger fret the D string. Which is the 4th string. Fret at the fourth fret. Practice this first riff.
You want to play that 4 times through. On the fourth time instead of fretting the D string at the fourth fret. You are going to play a double stop.
Don’t get worried, it’s not as hard as it sounds. The double stop is when you play two strings and notes at the same time.
So for this you are going to cover your first finger over the 4th and 3rd string at the fourth fret. Which is the D string and the G string at the 4th fret.
Once they are covered, then pick the two strings simultaneously. Pick them two times total.
Then play the whole thing (Riff 1) Again.
Second Easy Guitar Riff Begins
This is the second part. But it is as easy as the first. In fact you are simply moving everything up a string. And playing the same thing.
So instead of starting on the A string. You are starting on the D string at the 5th fret. Remember start with your second finger.
Cover the 5th fret on the 4th string. Picking the D string. Then use your third finger and cover the string at the 6th fret on the D string and pick the 4th string.
Then with your first finger play the G string (3rd string) at the 4th fret. You play those three notes 4 times through. Then on the fourth time your doing another double stop.
But this time the double stop is going to be fretted on the G and B strings. (3rd & 2nd string). On the fourth fret.
Before you go to the next riff practice the second riff.
